Racism in Canada:

Racism in Canada has many negativee affects on black citizens, even though Canada isn't much of a breeding ground for racism that doesn't mean that there isn't racism at all, it is still everywhere.


Racism affects many people in a very negative manner. For those who are victims of racism experience low self-esteem, mental health issues such as depression, low income from employment and higher levels of unemployement not to mention potential disrespect from others.

These are some examples of racism in Canada:
-12% of the Toronto district school board is black students, yet 48% of the expelled students are black
20.8% of peoples of colour in Canada are low-income compared to 12.2% of non-racialized people according to the 2016 Census
For every dollar that a white man earns in Ontario 2015, racialized women earn 58 cents and racialized men earn 76 cents
